Volunteers are the heart of Dalkeith CAB. Volunteering offers the chance to use valuable life and work experience to help people facing challenges and hardship in our community.
Why is volunteering important?
We believe everyone deserves access to free, independent, confidential, non-judgemental information and support to help them deal with problems and issues that arise in life.
Volunteers are crucial to the services we provide, whether it's on reception, helping with form-filling, raising awareness on social media, providing advice or organising local campaigns.
What is involved?
Most volunteering roles involve a commitment of between 2 and 6 hours each week. Whatever the role, volunteers receive full training and ongoing support. They are reimbursed for travel and similar experiences. All you need is a commitment to Dalkeith CAB's aims, a willingness to help people and a bit of time to offer.
What are the benefits?
Helping people deal with challenges and helping the CAB run well can be very rewarding. Volunteering also means getting to meet new people, be part of a small, supportive team, and get involved in the community. It's a great way to develop new skills and gain knowledge and experience for employment or further studies.
